A Little Over One Month Later

Over one month ago a dozen Hutt Valley High Students walked over to the U.S Ambassador to New Zealand - David Huebner's House to help plant some trees to celerbrate Earth Day.

Beach Clean Up 19/03/11

It was a wonderful adventure sitting on a boat and heading out to a little beach on the side of Wellingtons motorway to pick up rubbish. (I know it sounds stupid and silly.) But when we arrived we were shocked to see the amount of rubbish lying on that little rocky beach. We filled over 15 big bags of rubbish from shoes to bottles to tennis balls and many more!!

This was one of many exciting adventures that HVHS Environment Group has to offer. Come along to the meeting on Tuesday, Lunch Time in C10.

Things to do...

Sapling Trees. They need to be changed from their old small bags into bigger ones and weeded then get them ready for planting early in the Winter. This is going to happen at Lunch Time tomorrow (15th March). Meet at the tennis court behind the old gym. (Bring gardening gloves, its going to be messy!!)

Secondly, last week on Saturday there was a beach clean up organised for pupils that are interested in our school but unfortunately due to the tsunami warning and the rough waters the boat wasn't able to be launch to go to the beaches. So now the date has been changed to this coming Saturday, 19th March. See Mrs Smart in C10 for more details.
